If you purchased a cannabis vape product in the past that was labeled as Live Resin and had a dominantly fruity flavor, it most likely was not live resin, but distillate and botanically derived terpenes (BDT)

It is a common practice for shady black market manufacturers to mislabel their BDT products as live resin as an upselling point. This is due to live resin being a more sought after and higher priced form of cartridge, yet most consumer flavor pallets lie in preferance of fruity flavors from botanical terpenes, so in order to cater to their likings of flavor while also upselling their own product, they resort to relabeling all of their BDT products as live resin.

A true live or cured resin cartridge will taste dominantly like a cannabis concentrate, you will get notes of fruity terps depending on the strain but it should always taste like a dab, not a nicotine vape.
